1 - Organisation

In the aim to attribute a french diploma to the SOCRATES - ERASMUS students coming to study Physics at Orsay, the University has created the "Diplôme Européen de Physique de l’Université PARIS SUD". It is hopped that this diploma offered in addition to the home University diploma, would motivate foreign students to come at Orsay and spend a fruitfull and studious year.

This Diplôme will be organized in the standard and usual Licence and Maîtrise de Physique Fondamentale d’ORSAY framework.

A jury of Professors, including the Directors of the Licence and of the Maîtrise de Physique would deliver the diploma. Students would have to obtain weigthed mean marks at least equal to 10 / 20 to a number of teaching units corresponding to 60 E.C.T.S. (European Credit Transfert System) in the same academic year.

No fees would be requested for this diploma.

In addition, students will stay registered in the national diploma of Licence or/and Maîtrise de Physique Fondamentale.

2 - Programs

To stay compatible with the requests of the home University, a variety of courses combination can be chosen by the students. Three general frameworks are proposed, but adaptation could be done in agreement with the Director of the Licence to satisfy the home University requirements.

Theoretical option

 . 3 courses among :

Mathematics, Quantum mechanics, Statistical physics, Electromagnetism 27 ECTS

 . 3 courses among :

Condensed matter, Atomical and molecular physics, Optics,

Nuclear and Particle physics, Classical mechanics, or M7 (Fields and fluids,

Astrophysics, Electronics, Cristallography and condensed matter),

or 2 courses among : Laser, Fluids mechanics, Plasmas 21 ECTS

. 3 Laboratory work among :

Plasmas, Atomical physics, Nuclear physics, Optics, Statistical Physics (2) 12 ECTS

Experimental physics option

 . 1 course among:

Mathematics, Quantum mechanics, Statistical physics, Electromagnetism 9 ECTS

. 1 course among:

Condensed matter, Atomical and molecular physics, Optics,

Nuclear and Particle physics, Classical mechanics, or M7 (Fields and fluids,

Astrophysics, Electronics, Cristallography and condensed matter),

or 2 courses among : Laser, Fluids mechanics, Plasmas 7 ECTS

. 1 optionnal course of Licence 4 ECTS

. 1 Laboratory research project including a report and an oral presentation 40 ECTS

Expérimental Electronics - Physics Option

. 2 Courses of Informatics of Licence and Magistère 2 12 ECTS

. 2 Courses of Electronics of the Licence 10 ECTS

. Course of Data analysis and numerical methods of Licence 4 ECTS

. 1 Laboratory research project including a report and an oral presentation 34 ECTS
